Made with hand-knotted wool and originating from Turkey circa 1930-1940, this 5x7 vintage Sivas rug is a rich new semi-antique curation from Rug
Kilim’s collections of this celebrated weaving provenance.
On the Design:
A luxurious cream field underscores an elaborate, dense all over floral pattern surrounding a large floral medallion in the center. Keen eyes will note a medley of deep burgundy, pink, gold and even subtle taupe tones in the humble, yet rich palette and detailing of the piece. The borders are equally graceful and adorned with palmettes and vine scrolls in similar tones with taupe being a prominent shade. Admirers of the craft will appreciate what an elegant and collectible find such a work of subtle beauty and dedication is, that too in such a versatile size.
