Hand knotted in wool and originating in Turkey circa 1950-60, this 2x6 vintage runner rug is a rare and exciting new curation from Rug
Kilim’s collection of one-of-a-kind mid-century Turkish pieces.
On the Design:
This vintage Turkish runner rug features a beige field underscoring geometric patterns in brown and green tones with accents of cream. Running the length of the rug are several rectangular panels. These panels are internally decorated with simple, geometric motifs, including small diamonds, stepped patterns, and stylized, almost primitive, designs in similar earthy tones. Achieving excellence through subtlety, this design is among the best one could find with this rich patina. This piece is both a fabulous collectible for the connoisseur and a rustic piece suiting particularly those leaning towards traditional or minimalist aesthetics with a sense of culture and history.
