71909, Vintage Turkish Sivas Rug with Heriz-Serapi Design and French Provincial Style. This hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Sivas rug features a large octofoil medallion with flaming Harshang, or crab, palmettes floating in the centre of an abrashed cream field. A variety of botanical motifs radiate outwards from the medallion in an intricate display of vinery, buds, blooms, serrated leaves and small leaflets. The stepped corner spandrels echo the stylized motifs of the centre area. Floral Meander, boteh Meander and saw-tooth guard borders accompany a lovely Herati main border with samovar-shaped palmettes. A splendid color palette based around rosy pinks, silvery greens and creamy neutrals, accented by soft blues and purples, give the piece’s bold Heriz-style design a more delicate and romantic feel. This sophisticated vintage Sivas rug would bring a sense of calm elegance to nearly any space. Rendered in variegated shades of rose, light pink, pink, mauve, sky blue, periwinkle, cerulean, cornflower blue, azure, lilac, pistachio, sage green, beige, champagne, ecru, sand, khaki, vanilla, cream, taupe, gray, greige, sienna, umber, coffee, and onyx.
