Made with hand-knotted wool circa 1950-1960, this vintage 5x7 Turkish tribal rug is a grand new entry to Rug
Kilim’s repertoire of mid-century rugs.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will appreciate a strong resemblance to Caucasian rug designs—particularly to “Eagle” Kazak rug designs, named for the sharp talon-like features of this play of medallion and all over style. Bright, saturated red underscores field and border alike, while the patterns enjoy bright white, navy blue, and gold tones among the polychrome colorway. Both the field and border are decorated with other intricate tribal motifs as well, which coupled with vivid colors only adds to the rustic charm of the piece. It’s a gracious rug with a cultured personality, well suited for a wide array of decor possibilities.

This vintage Turkish rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin, and is ready for the floor.
