Handknotted in wool, this 5x8 vintage rug originates from Turkey, circa 1960-1970 and is believed to hail from the Turkish artist Zeki Muren.
On the Design:
Inspired by Chinese Art Deco rugs, this rug features an open field and medallion style playing together. The pink field reflects shades of dusty, light pink and mauve tones while underscoring floral medallions and some architectural geometry alike. Keen eyes will note mainly jewel tones with especially present teal and crimson red hues.
One of the most interesting new curations from works we believe to be attributed to this artist, and a playful take on 1920s period pieces alike
Condition:
This mid-century vintage Zeki Müren rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin. Its construction has been lowered to preserve its construction, which lends it the distressed look of wear and chic in a low pile.
