This vintage 6x9 rug, hand-knotted in wool, circa 1960-1970, as inspired by European influences, is a new addition to Rug
Kilim Collection. This rug is a commemoration of the multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren.
On the Design:
Connoisseurs will appreciate this design that represents one of Müren’s unique colorways of green, beige/brown and pink tones, medallion and geometric floral patterns that would become his celebrated styles. Its design showcases his ability to create a muted modern interpretation of classic floral patterns. This Zeki Müren piece is particularly exceptional, especially in such a creative way to deconstruct this transitional style and use its elements in his own way. This piece is believed to represent this artist’s take on antique European rugs, with elements of French tapestry weaves and Oriental rug designs together in the most unusual, playful colors.
Condition:
This vintage Zeki Müren rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin. Its construction has been lowered to preserve its construction, which lends it the distressed look of wear and chic in a low pile.
