Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection—a rare curation believed to hail from mid-century Turkish artist and icon Zeki Müren.
On The Design:
Admirers of the craft will appreciate this polychromatic design of borderless diamond-lattice geometric patterns, in which subtle variations of both playful and forgiving colors within the overall beige undertone lend the otherwise comfortable, traditional geometry a more engaging sense of movement. One of Müren’s hallmarks is his unexpected approach to iconic design movements and traditional looks, and particularly his ability to lend a sense of whimsy and modernism that still honor their foundations—a smart balance of comfortable, yet joyful demeanor that his works also embody, so thoughtful in their approach to the postmodernist appeal of the time and collectible in his works curated today.
Condition:
This mid-century rug enjoys good condition for its age and origin. Its pile height has been lowered to preserve its construction, which lends it the distressed look of wear and boho chic in the nap—a low pile height well-suited to swinging and sliding doors, among many clearance-conscious design applications.
