Hand Knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, this 5x8 vintage Zeki Múren rug features a unique play of Art Deco and mid-century modern sensibilities for its provenance.
On the Design:
Connoisseurs will admire this vintage Zeki Múren’s design which explores lattice patterns, mainly geometric motifs that are clearly minimalist interpretations of floral patterns like the fleur de lis. The polychromatic colorway strikes a gorgeous balance between cool
warm tones. One must admire the sheer attention to craft that achieves this sense of movement—a hallmark of Müren’s rare style. Keen eyes for detail will note some playful touches of variation in the otherwise comfortable sense of repetition, a work of whimsy and country chic like the best of this artist’s works believed to remain.
