Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection—a curation believed to hail from mid-century Turkish artist and icon Zeki Müren, and one of a particularly uncommon size for his works, nearly a gallery runner in its spacious dimensions.
On the Design:
This Zeki Müren rug features an irregular geometric design playing cubist Art Deco and mid-century modern sensibilities, which unfolds across a harmonious, soft palette of beige, dusty rose pink, golden ochre, cream, and brown tones, each ‘fragment’ contributing to an almost abstract mosaic that transforms historical design sections into modern artistic statements. The varied vertical patches create dynamic visual rhythm through asymmetry and subtle tonal gradations. Larger neutral sections provide visual breathing space between more saturated elements, preventing chromatic overload while maintaining overall coherence.
