Made with hand-knotted wool circa 1960-1970, this 7x10 vintage rug from Turkey is believed to be the work of mid-century Turkish artist Zeki Müren. It’s a rare and exciting new curation from Rug
Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection—a collection devoted to Müren’s remaining and inspired works in our craft today.
On the Design:
A palette of black and gold underscores geometric patterns in large-scale abstract figures—graphic, bold drawing with the playful and dramatic beauty many of Müren’s works enjoy. Admirers of the craft will appreciate this rug among Müren’s select works with a more reserved palette, and how his attention to detail still makes such a sense of movement through subtle touches, like the variations in the pattern the keen eye will admire.
