Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, this 4x6 vintage rug is believed to originate from the rare works of mid-century Turkish artist Zeki Müren.
On the Design:
The vintage rug carries polychromatic trellis geometric patterns on a rich field. Keen eyes will note a play of the playful and traditional elements that speaks to Müren as an eclectic designer and marks his rugs distinct in his period. Connoisseurs may admire the playful sense of movement and the transitional, almost modern sense of life this piece breathes into more traditional patterns, like this play of trellises made new with pastel and jewel tone colors.
