This vintage Zeki Müren 3x9 runner rug, hand-knotted in wool, circa 1960-1970, is inspired by Turkish Kilim sensibilities in its drawing and scale adapted to a more colorful mid-century interpretation.
On the Design:
Connoisseurs will appreciate this design that represents one of Müren’s unique plays of polychromatic colorway and geometric chevron patterns that would become his celebrated styles. Its design showcases his ability to create a modern interpretation of classic floral patterns. Müren’s artistic capabilities shine through, in his deliberate use of eccentric colorway combinations, resulting in a visually striking composition.
