A hand-knotted vintage Anatolian rug with a geometric design on a red field. Accents of yellow, green and ivory throughout. This rug measures 2'.6 x 5'.

Three large and boldly articulated medallions in the style of early Kazak weavings from the Caucasus dominate the vibrant madder-red field of this historically important and masterfully executed example from eastern Anatolia. The treatment of this iconic central medallion as repeat ornament is innovative and highly successful. While exceedingly true to the spirit of drawing and its execution, the distinctive construction of this piece reveals it as the work of a particularity skillful Anatolian weaver.
