The ivory field of this c.1880 French rug has taken on a convex cruciform shape from the bouquet centered quarter round corners. Paired acanthus volutes frame a large round medallion with garland swags and eight laurel edged ovals, all focused on a rose bouquet. The large round centerpiece visually pushes outwards to fill any available space.
