About the Item

This antique 7x8 Savonnerie rug is a rare new entry in Rug Kilim’s classic curations. It’s the oldest Spanish Savonnerie rug in this collection, hand-knotted in wool circa 1870-1880. Further on the Design: The design is a play of medallion patterns in all-over style with rich brown and ochre undertone. Keen eyes will further admire slate-gray, blue, pink and red notes in the many accents and fine details this piece enjoys. This is an exemplar of finely woven Savonnerie rugs in quality, and it's furthermore in great condition.
