This vintage Art Deco rug from the 1950s is a striking example of mid-century European textile artistry, blending the bold geometry of Deco design with whimsical natural motifs. Hand-knotted in wool, the rug exhibits a vibrant interplay of rich emerald, olive, moss, and jade greens, punctuated by accents of ivory and pale gold.
At the heart of the composition lies a central field arranged in a loose grid of stylized floral rosettes. These blossoms, each rendered with scalloped petals and dot centers, alternate in tone—ranging from soft cream to dusty yellow and sage—producing a rhythmic, almost animated visual cadence.
