About the Item
Contemporary Postmodern Bauhaus rug. The rug design is inspired by modernistic German fine art school, the Bauhaus, founded by Walter Gropius in Weimar. Functionality, directness, and asymmetry of design are favoured over ornamentation and symmetry. The Bauhaus rug is an amalgamation of large shapes and direct colors. Art Deco designs drew upon the more simplistic designs of its Bauhaus predecessor.
