About the Item
CAVENDISH is a cracked city sidewalk — turned to poetry. A nearly uniform light gray surface, within which delicate pale cracks are etched. Almost invisible lines form an abstract system of motion, like a map of the unspoken.
The rug is handwoven from only natural materials, with a clean texture and sensitive shading between line and background. It is quiet, almost transparent — yet impossible to ignore.
Gadi Carmel’s design came from one long gaze at a small crack — and the realization that it is the most complete thing in the room.
