Forest Ruby one in a series of four, created specially for OWN.
They depicture abtract memories of joy. Of light, touch, taste and scent. A physical representation of the soft sport in our minds where we retreat to feel safe and to re-charge. A glimpse of a lighter world. And a hopeful- ness of new beginnings and excitement for what is to come.
Forest Ruby is a sunset mirroring in a quiet lake, the taste of the first wild strawberry found in the grass, like a little ruby in your hand. The smell of sun on warm summer skin.
Hand tufted and embroidered wool. The layers of different heights are sculpted to create a lush textured lanscape. The rug has a rich cotton back- ing and is finished with a hand applied embroidery stitch. The wool yarns are collected factory leftovers from The Netherlands, India and Nepal. Depend- ing on avaliablitiy of yarns small color variations can appear.
