This antique, circa 1900, Spanish Savonnerie rug features a golden-yellow field with diagonal rows of panels containing a central fox-brown and ivory central floral motifs around a large central ivory oval with a pink and golden-yellow acanthus leaf rosette flanked by light-blue and golden-yellow tasseled swags linked by acanthus leaf ties, the meandering pink and light-blue acanthus leaf open border with a large flowering vase at each side and end, an outer light blue ribbed stripe with golden-yellow spaced X-motifs, outer golden-yellow plain stripe.
