About the Item
77186-87 pair of mid-19th century antique Italian metallic embroidered velvet pillows with metallic fringe. This pair of antique Italian pillows displays a deep indigo blue background with Italian metallic applique. It is embroidered with a gold metallic overlay that has aged to a dark gold. Each mid-19th century antique velvet pillow features a mihrab niche filled with a stylized rose made from silk and beads. An elaborate border made from embroidered metallic threads frames each pillow. Sides are finished with antique French aged gold metallic trim bullions from the 18th-century. It is filled with down insert and sewn shut with a golden brass colored silk backing. Well-suited for a range of interiors: Baroque, Louis XIV, French Provincial, Versailles, Renaissance, Italian, Rococo, French, Georgian, Venetian, Neoclassical, Regency, and Parisian. Abrash. Age Wear. The applique has been previously re-attached. Beautiful patina. Materials: Velvet, silk, beads, and aged metal. Made in Italy. Measures: 01'00 x 01'03.
