About the Item

An unusual hand-knotted carpet woven in two tones of red, with an all-over pattern of perfectly executed roundels. Patterns such as this one were clearly influenced by Op-Art designers such as Verner Panton, who created an entire collection based on this element (see for example the Geometry 1 carpet listed here). This carpet is attributed to Germany on the basis of a label sewn on the back, which is hardly legible.
