Head of Design, Urd Moll Gundermann’s intricately hand-drawn designs are transformed into creative woven narratives inspired by mystical deep-sea dwellers, using an interplay of structure, colour and form to bring her vibrant organic shapes to life.
Each rug is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans in India, who achieve the desired tones and patterns by tying thousands of individual knots.
All yarn used in Watertopia is crafted from natural materials, with Linie Design using wool, silk, linen and organic cotton. The exhibition is on display from 12th June 2024 at Linie Design’s brand store in Palægade, Copenhagen.
Today, Linie Design continues its collaboration with a number of Danish textile designers, led by Head of Design Urd Moll Gundermann. Our rug collections reflect the unique creative styles of each individual designer, reproduced by hand by skilled artisans in India. Whilst keeping traditional heritage values in high esteem and exceptional quality consistently high, the design team use innovative technology and new techniques to create new dimensions and push boundaries in design.
