Woolen Pablo Picasso Rug “Run of the Bulls” by Ege Axminster carpets in Denmark. late-Twentieth Century.
Size: 2.49 m x 3.40 m (8′2″ × 11′2″)
The rug renders Picasso’s energetic cubist vision of Pamplona’s bull run, celebrating bold geometry, movement, and color.
The rug is well-preserved and clean and without any smell or worn areas.
The rug is lacking its original label and is descibed as design No. 80577
It was sold at Bijenkorf in the 1990s, a high end department store in the Netherlands.
Ege Axminster A/S, based in Denmark, was known for high-quality wool carpets. In the 1980s–1990s, they produced a “20th Century Masters” line licensing works from Picasso, Dali, van Gogh, and others.
