Hand-knotted rug in style of Paul Klee
The painting from which the design of this rug originates was named "Florentinische Villenviertel" (translates Florentine Villas Quarter) and it was painted 1926 by Paul Klee (1879-1940), in the high time of Art Deco.
This rug was made as a hand-knotted rug of very fine quality. It has a 100% woolen pile.
Influence of North African Art on European Modern Art.
These abstract designs of Moroccan Art had a great influence on European Modern Art. An initial date was a travel to Tunis in the year 1914. Paul Klee, August Macke and Louis Moilliet visited Tunisia and their Artworks after that trip showed many new inspirations in abstract design.
