About the Item

The Espressionismo Floreale rug collection is woven from a luxurious blend of New Zealand wool and vegan silk. The rugs are designed in Los Angeles and made in Portugal using the handtufting technique by Laura Niubó. Espressionismo Floreale is about the rebirth of life through flowers. Using colors and geometric shapes, each artwork captures one natural reproductive part of a flower in its most abstract form. The design of each rug is a study of color and composition that generates a sensation of a sinuous, elegant and forceful movement as these flowers own by nature remembering the importance of flora itself. The thoughtful use of color elevates the viewer's imagination and brings joy to any environment and space. Laura Niubó is a Spanish born creative director, designer and artist based in Los Angeles. As a creative director she works for the world's most transformational brands - Apple, Airbnb, Google, Instagram, Louis Vuiton, Netflix - advertising agencies and music artists. As a designer-artist she has exhibited in many galleries around the world as New York, L.A., Miami, Barcelona, London, Milan, Mallorca and Colombia. She has done commissioned artworks for Google and Figma Inc. Niubó's new rug collection has been exhibited at Alcova for Milan Design Week 2023, at the Carpet Diem group show in a gallery in Paris, at Domotex in Hanover, and at Isola Design for Milan Design Week 2024. The rugs have earned recognition from the press and international design awards: A’ Design Awards, iF Design Awards, Muse Design Awards, London Design Awards and The Carpet Design Awards.
