Wonderful French Aubusson style Jacquard Halluin tapestry with nice design of hunters at town and beautiful colors, women on mechanical Jacquard looms at Halluin manufacturing by wool and cotton.
From an Aubusson tapestry, mid-18th century. Aubusson weavers, who traditionally created "verdures" or "bocages," turned to rural and pastoral scenes and created a style of tapestries called "rustic." This tapestry illustrates this. Hunters and pretty ladies rest and chat peacefully in a verdant, rural setting.
