About the Item

Mid-17th Century Flemish Tourani Tapestry 2'9" x 7' - 84 x 213 Antique Flemish Tapestry, Circa 1650 – 2'9" x 7' An exquisite 17th-century Flemish tapestry, handwoven in wool and silk circa 1650. This finely detailed panel depicts a pastoral figural scene of villagers gathered beneath a large tree, rendered in shades of pale sky blue, soft green, and muted earth tones. The composition is framed by a narrow blue border, enhancing the naturalistic imagery. Flemish tapestries from this era are admired for their refined craftsmanship, use of silk highlights, and narrative charm. At just under 3 feet wide and 7 feet long, this tapestry is versatile in scale — ideal for use as a wall hanging or incorporated into a collection of early European textiles.
