Gunther Lambert has named the silk carpet as "Rose Garden". It is like a garden in your apartment and you would like to walk on it with bare feet and have the silky feeling under your feet. Gunther Lambert writes in his book Interior "the designs are mine, but their execution exceeds everything I have imagined". The silk carpet is an enigmatic work of three Chinese women. They worked in the inconspicuous building of a Chinese carpet weaving mill, that hides a world of colors behind its meaningless gates. Thousands of spools of silk. Each color in all imaginable nuances dyed by hand. Three Chinese people each sit in front of a vertical knotting frame. Next to them is nothing but a piece of paper on which the colours are attached and the carpet pattern is drawn. Now artistic design begins. The art of turning my ideas into pictures. Every woman lets herself be guided only by her intuition. From huge color mountains they take exactly the color in shades, knot, twist, give life and depth to the pattern. Until the individual colours of the carpet shine like gems. Each picture, which is knotted from almost 1 million knots and is an absolutely unique piece, takes more than half a year. Due to poor lighting conditions, the carpet on the left side looks damaged. we assure you: the carpet is completely intact. The carpet offered here was only in our exhibition and still as good as new. We still have some extravagant exhibits by Gunther Lambert in our design collection. Wie ein Garten liegt er in Ihrer Wohnung und man würde gerne ihn mit bloßen Füßen betreten und das seidige Gefühl unter den Füßen haben. Gunther Lambert schreibt in seinem Buch Interieur „zwar sind die Entwürfe von mir, ihre Ausführung jedoch übersteigt alles was ich mir dabei ausgemalt habe. Sie ist das rätselhafte Werk von drei chinesischen Frauen. Sie arbeiten im unscheinbaren Gebäude einer chinesischen Teppichknüpferei, das hinter seinen nichtssagenden Toren eine Welt von Farben verbirgt. Tausende von Spulen mit Seide. Jede Farbe in allen nur erdenklichen Nuancen von Hand gefärbt. Jeweils drei Chinesinnen sitzen vor einem senkrechten Knüpfrahmen. Neben sich nichts als ein Zettel, auf dem die Farben angeheftet sind und das Teppichmuster aufgezeichnet ist. Nun beginnt artistisch Design. Die Kunst, aus meinen Ideen Bilder zu machen. Jede Frau lässt sich dabei nur von ihrer Intuition leiten. Aus riesigen Farbbergen nehmen Sie genau die Farbe. Abschattierungen, knüpfen, zwirnen, geben dem Muster Leben und Tiefe. Bis die einzelnen Farben des Teppichs wie Edelsteine leuchten. Mehr als ein halbes Jahr dauert jedes Bild, dass aus fast 1 Million Knoten geknüpft wird und ein absolutes Einzelstück ist.“ Den hier angebotenen Teppich ist in unserer Ausstellung gewesen und noch neuwertig.
