Carpet after a carton by Francis Bacon of 1927. In fact, although this carpet bears the signature of DA SILVA BRUHNS, it is pertinent to note that a carpet with an identical cardboard but with the signature of Francis Bacon, and Different colors, was presented at the 1929 London Decorative Arts Exhibition (owned by the Victoria Albert Museum.) Our carpet, of which four are currently known, was presented at the London Decorative Arts Exhibition in 1927.
