About the Item
Made with all wool circa 1960-1970, this square 7x7 vintage Scandinavian rug is a rare design from mid-century artist Verner Panton. Believed to be made for Unika Vaev, it's a collectible Danish Ege rya rug with a gorgeous play of mid-century modern pop art and abstract sensibilities.
On the Design:
Orange and gold hues underscore a lush, shag pile texture with a retro and shabby-chic feel. Admirers of the craft will particularly appreciate the rarity of a square rug among the designs found of this provenance today.
Condition:
Great condition, with only minor loss to pile—a border was removed and it was re-bound on all sides. Ready for the floor.
