Hand-knotted wool and believed to originate from Ireland circa 1940-1950, this 10x13 antique rug is a particularly special European interpretation of Oushak rugs—a provenance which admirers of our craft know has yielded some of the most interesting and collectible works in our field today.
On the design:
A red field and blue border underscore floral patterns in the all over style, with a notable pink accent—very much keeping with the Oushak style, known for its use of more whimsical, feminine colors as much as masculine, traditional colors. It’s a regal, rare piece for both the designer and collector alike.
Condition:
This Vintage European Oushak rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin, with minor wear consistent with age.
