About the Item

The 010 armchair was designed and handcrafted in Spain in 2024 by FFFF, the furniture line created by Chilean designer Francisco Jordán. Executed in lacquered metal, the armchair reflects a design approach rooted in simplicity, functionality, and a playful, expressive spirit. Each piece within the FFFF collection is made using techniques mastered by Jordán, including bending, welding, and painting metal tubes. This hands-on process allows the designer to work directly with material and form, treating metal as a drawing medium. Jordán often describes his practice as “drawing with metal,” producing what he calls “shape files,” where line, structure, and function merge into a single gesture. The 010 armchair belongs to a broader collection of approximately 40 handcrafted pieces that includes chairs, armchairs, lamps, tables, and sculptural objects. Jordán’s background, which spans civil engineering, urban bicycle equipment design, and the creation of comics and fanzines, informs a multidisciplinary practice where technical precision and graphic sensibility coexist. The result is a piece that functions as seating while also asserting a strong visual identity, positioned between functional furniture and sculptural object.
