About the Item

18th century couple of Italian giltwood armchairs This refined and important pair of armchairs was made around the middle of the 18th century in Venice, Italy, in carved giltwood and reflects the typical stylistic dictates of Venetian Baroque. They stand out for their elegance in their wavy shapes: the seat is supported by a wavy band and carved with rocaille elements as well as the backrest. The legs are arched and the foot carved. The armrests, curved and shaped, contribute to give a particularly harmonious line. The armchairs, which can be placed together or individually, are very decorative both in an entrance hall or in a room that in a bedroom.
