About the Item

This solid walnut accent chair is a hand-carved French piece that dates to the 1920s. This piece could just as easily be found in an elegant Montecito home today with its neutral palette, warm walnut frame and classic French lines. In fact, it has a very current, up-to-the-moment feel. It's in very good condition for its age, with a completely structurally sound frame, that feels like a new chair when seated. It's covered in a custom hand-done needlepoint flower motif in a warm neutral palette, made of 100% wool. In the detail images above, showing the back of the chair (upper left side), you will see there are some spots on the wood frame, probably water spots that can be minimized with conditioning and a good quality wood polish. The upholstery fabric on the back of the chair is velvet and appears to be a bit faded by the Sun. This is the only place on the chair where there are any imperfections.
