About the Item

This is a set of four Bent Tubular Steel Dining Chairs, designed by Lewis Larsen for the Lloyd Loom Company in ca. 1942. Lloyd Loom was operating under the ownership of the Haywood-Wakefield Company during the time of their production. The original upholstery is done in a tan oil-cloth material, and the post-Deco silhouette is formed from bent tubular steel rods. While steel cantilever bouncer chairs were a mainstay of Lloyd's offerings during this period, this example deviates from that standard with the addition of a curved support that is affixed to the base for added stability. Each chair measures 22 inches deep, 20 inches wide, and 31 inches high. They have a seat height of 17 inches. We have intentionally left these pieces in their current condition to showcase their history. There are spots and scuffs on the upholstery, and there are several scratches on the steel. The seats are solid, and one chair has a few tears in the upholstery. Overall, these chairs are in good condition. Please see photos.
