Pair of Rare Viennese Biedermeier Armchairs, Vienna circa 1825
This fine and elegant pair of authentic Viennese Biedermeier armchairs dates to circa 1825 and represents the highest level of early 19th-century Austrian craftsmanship.
Viennese Biedermeier furniture is celebrated for its refined proportions, understated elegance, and exceptional quality. Its influence on modern and contemporary design remains profound, making these chairs as relevant today as they were two centuries ago.
Crafted from beautifully figured walnut, the chairs retain a rich, deep amber tone enhanced by an original 200-year-old patina. The upholstery complements the warmth of the wood, emphasizing the graceful lines of the design. Elegantly shaped feet, delicately formed armrests, and an artfully profiled back are exemplary of sophisticated Biedermeier aesthetics.
