About the Item

Decorate a study or office with this elegant antique armchair. Crafted in southern France circa 1880, the comfortable fauteuil sits on four cabriole legs decorated with acanthus leaves at the shoulder and ending with escargot feet. The armchair has a tall and arched back, a wide and deep seat over a four-side scalloped apron decorated all around with carved shell and leaf motifs, the chair with curved armrests and acanthus leaf decor has been newly upholstered with a patinated black leather, embellished with decorative brass nail heads. The large provincial armchair is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina throughout. Measures: 29" W x 32" D x 44" H.
