About the Item
Pair of French Louis XVI style armchairs with a gold leaf finish from the late 19th century. These fauteuils are beautifully carved with gadrooning, flutted legs and a ribbon at the crest of the oval back. The gilt wood finish has a lovely old patina with some gesso showing. The fabric is silk but is not new and has some imperfections, but usable.
