About the Item

This Grand Pair of 19th Century Portuguese Armchairs were crafted from old growth walnut and leather in the early 1800's. The chairs feature their original embossed leather upholstery that has been hand tacked with aged brass. Each arm is intricately hand carved ending in a scroll and adorned with leather rest. The two detailed carved front legs make a statement within themselves. Each of the four legs are adjoined with curved stretchers. The original leather shows wear and discoloration which only adds to the charm of these chairs. The backs retain their original cloth which adds character. This pair of one of a kind 19th Century Portuguese Walnut and Leather Armchairs with their oversized construction and warm patina will be stunning with new upholstery or stand alone untouched as a work of art. 31.5"W x 24.5"D x 47.5"H Seat Height 19.75
