About the Item

This is a carved solid oak armchair in the Elizabethan atyle. The chair was made in England, circa 1900. All of the carving is hand done and of superior quality and depth. The chair has a fabulously shaped back that is heavily carved. The arms are also nicely shaped with great quality carvings. The chairs front legs have carved Cabriole shaped legs that sit on a scrolled snail's foot. The back legs are well turned. There is a beautifully shaped stretcher to the base for strength and support that has a carved medallion to its middle. This is a spectacular chair that maintains its fabulous original finish and is in wonderful physical condition. It has a brown leather seat with round head brass tacks. It measures 25 1/2 in. wide x 25 in. deep x 50 in. tall.
