About the Item
An antique Castilian hand carved mahogany and exquisitely embossed leather arm chair, having a handsome carved profile of a Spanish Conquistador in the top crest. The arms are carved with acanthus leaves and there are carved hairy paw feet. The leather to my knowledge is original and exquisitely embossed in images of chess pieces, trimmed with black leather and spaced nail-heads. A stunning, unique and handsome addition to your man cave, home office or library. A very sturdy and useable chair for a gentleman.

A lovely late 17th century Spanish walnut and leather armchair, retaining its original leather seat and back, held by worn gilt brass studs. The back of the chair has two finely carved scroll acanthus finials above two broad arms, which are supported by carved balusters that run through into square front legs, these are joined by a high and heavily carved stretcher with two shaped stretchers joining the front and back legs at either side. Great patina to the wood and leather. In very good condition.
