About the Item
An exceptional antique William IV leather library armchair. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1830-1840 period.
The quality is outstanding, this is an extremely fine example. The frame has wonderful carving throughout. It stands on beautifully turned baluster legs at the front, terminating in original brass casters. The casters on the back legs have been replaced more recently. This is a great size and it is very comfortable.
We have had this re-upholstered in a gorgeous russet leather which has been hand coloured to give this gorgeous colour tone.
We have also had the frame re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age, with only some extremely minor wear.
