About the Item
Set of four amazing Jade green stain lacquer on beech-tree armchairs by Germaine Darbois-Gaudin, 1949.
Removable fittings and fabric with two nickel-plated boots on front legs. Extremely unique and Fine curves throughout. Can be sold in pairs. The lacquer is a few years old and has some wear, scratches, etc.

Provenance:
Ile de France ocean liner, 1st class Lounge.
Made for the ocean liner "Ile de France", Madame Darbois-Gaudin designed the interior of the immense "Chambord" dining room. After being selected for the 1st Class Lounge project, she was also responsible for the interior design of the 1st Class Lounge.

Germaine-Irene Darbois-Gaudin
Germaine-Irene Darbois-Gaudin was born in 1907. She took part in the salon of French artists of which, she was a member since 1939 and at the fair of the national society of fine arts since 1944. She died in the year 1998.
