About the Item
The Aruanã Armchair is a tribute to the fauna of Ceará state and the endangered Aruanã turtle.
Developed in collaboration with d.Propósito, this project involved thorough research to optimize the use of raw materials. It blends industrial production with the craftsmanship of local artisans, using sustainable materials such as regional straw, nautical ropes, certified wood, and recycled plastic and aluminum. The Aruanã Armchair stands out for its role in promoting the preservation of Brazil's northeastern seas while honoring traditional artisanal techniques and sustainable practices. It reflects designer Valter Costa Lima's deep environmental and cultural commitment.
For outdoor furniture, we only use solid Cumaru wood. In some cases, there may be variations in tone due to the natural characteristics of the material.
There may be small variations in measurements as this is a handmade piece.
Use a soft dry cloth or duster to clear, do not use abrasive products, solvents, ammonia, chlorine, steel wool or similar materials.
