About the Item
A minimalist design combining structure and aesthetic. Canela armchair with its mid-century modern and Scandinavian influences makes an elegant addition to any environment be it a living room, bedroom or reading area. The complex joinery is rendered timeless
contemporary by its delicate lines. Striking from all angles, in particular from behind where the copper components contrast against the natural wood tone. The wide comfortable cushion allows for various seating positions.
Handmade from Cumaru or Freijó with copper supports and cotton upholstery.
Knót Artesanal is a minimalist furniture studio composed of Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez and Scottish woodworker James Rowland. Specialising in handmade pieces created using traditional techniques and a modern design from their base in Paraty on the tropical 'Green Coast' of Brazil.

Knot Artesanal
Knót (ki-no-ti) is the meeting of design, beauty and simplicity hand crafted in solid hard-woods. It was formed between Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez (nó) and British woodworker James Rowland (knot), both passionate about the forms, tones and textures of wood. Our focus is on simple lines, quality materials and natural finishes. All of our pieces are handmade using traditional woodworking methods to create timeless contemporary pieces that not only need to be seen but also felt. This takes place in Paraty Brazil, the city in which we chose to live and work, nestled between the rainforest and the ocean.
Available in Brazilian Hardwoods Cumaru or Freijó.
