About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this hand made in England, George Smith Signature Standard arm, feather cushion back and base, Kilim upholstered armchair which was custom made to order. A very good looking well made piece, this is the only Signature Standard arm in Kilim I have ever seen with the cushion back, usually they have upholstered backs which is firmer and not as comfortable. This one is the longest seat platform available at 110cm, there are three sizes The kilims are epically expensive, George Smith are currently selling them for just under £2000 per kilim and an armchair this size needs nearly two of them so that’s nearly £4000 in upholstery alone, the chair has to be lined which is £400, the upholstery cost was £820 and the frame was just under £5000 so all in all you have a chair that costs over £10,000 to have made Condition wise, the frame was in the warehouse for some time prior to upholstery so it may have the odd mark here or there in the legs, the upholstery is all brand new and it has never been sat in Dimensions Height:- 86.5cm Width:- 81cm Depth:- 110cm Seat height:- 50.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
