About the Item

A Handsome, Colourful Scandinavian Country Throne Armchair An early 19th-century Scandinavian turned armchair, probably Swedish. It is something a bit different – perfect for making a statement. The armchair features a prominent bobbin-shaped top rail with finials and a square panel back with bobbin-shaped framing, as well as colourful turned wooden arm supports, flanked by two upright posts topped with simple finials. The base showcases beautifully turned bobbin legs united by stretchers, reflecting a high standard of craftsmanship. This armchair would complement any home, particularly in a kitchen or dining room. It is not only functional but also a real focal point, making it a wonderful addition to your décor. This colourful country armchair displays striking pine grain and a warm colour, all in good original condition. Made in Sweden, circa 1800. Seat height is 54 cm.
