A well-proportioned Edwardian mahogany desk chair of solid and practical form, featuring a shaped horseshoe back with gently scrolled terminals and a pierced splat, providing both comfort and visual interest. The curved arms flow smoothly into the supports, enclosing a shaped solid seat with a moulded edge. The chair stands on sturdy cabriole legs united by a shaped X-form stretcher, giving excellent stability and presence. Retaining a warm, mellow patina with surface wear consistent with age and use, this is a characterful and functional chair, ideal for use at a desk or as an occasional chair in a study or library.
