About the Item

Elegant and authentic armchair designed in 1937 and manufactured by Søren Willadsen in Denmark. The frame is crafted in solid elm with refined sculptural armrests, showcasing the warm natural grain of the wood. The seat and backrest are tightly woven in patinated natural saddle leather straps, offering beautiful texture, comfort, and a strong architectural presence. A wonderful example of early Danish modern craftsmanship, combining traditional materials with a light and functional aesthetic. This piece remains in original vintage condition with desirable character and wear to the leather consistent with age — an honest and charming patina that collectors highly value. Documented: Mette Mærsk for Vejen Kunstmuseum — “Historien om Søren Willadsens Møbelfabrik ”, referenced and illustrated pp. 41–42.
